You Know You’re Trans* When: #2296 you feel miserable and ashamed that your girlfriend won’t say to others you’re her boyfriend because even though she is dating the guy she is in love with, others view her as a lesbian and/or harass her for being with you.

A girl who is in love with a transguy had better be fucking proud to have him

and stand up for him and herself if she ever gets shit for it

she’d better at least be trying to be comfortable with his gender identity, like,

you can’t just date a transguy and ignore the fact that he’s trans

you have to accept it and be comfortable with it, just like you have to be comfortable with any cis partner’s body and gender identity

like obviously you can accept that a transguy is a man and that’s totally fine, but you have to be educated

you have to be educated and STILL be fucking proud to have every little thing about him to yourself

if you’re dating a transguy, you know fully well that you are not a lesbian and therefore have no reason to be embarrassed to be called one

and really, you shouldn’t be ashamed about your sexuality anyway

nobody should be

if you’re going to date a transguy, you should make the choice to be proud about it

that doesn’t mean you need to out him to anyone

you should refer to him as your boyfriend, and to those who are aware of his trans status, you should be ‘loud’ about how proud you are to have him

that is, if you are

and if you’re ashamed for people to know you’re in love with a transguy, you don’t belong with him

because he deserves a relationship with someone who isn’t ashamed for people to know about it, just like anyone else

it may be hard, like, bullying and everything isn’t easy to deal with

but if you aren’t willing to take it for him, I just…

if you’re in a relationship, you shouldn’t be embarrassed.
